About us

We develop the economic potential of the company and the social status of the staff
It's here where innovative ideas are transformed into high-quality technological products

Company history

1960
Our company is set up and we produce the first lots of titanium powder by calcium hydrate method.
In 1961, the Novotula Metallurgical Plant established a new powder metallurgy unit, Shop No. 8, which was designed as an industrial base for implementing the R&D projects of the Central Research Institute of Black Metallurgy (TsNIIChermet). The new shop was rapidly growing, developing and mastering production of high-purity electrolytic chromium, molybdenum and tungsten rolled parts, composites, and metal powders.
1963
We release our first lots of chromium and molybdenum products.
The first molybdenum rolled sheets are produced.
Electrolytic refined chromium production is launched.
1965
We increase production capacities.
Poroduction tech process are continuously growing and developing.
1982
We take leading positions in powder metallurgy (PM).
Russia's largest complex for metal powder production for resource-saving restoration and reinforcement of machine parts and equipment with a capacity of 3,000 tons per year is launched.

The volume of commodity output increases over 10 times, and over 100 new types of products added onto the portfolio.

Analytical laboratories, a technical office, and a design bureau are set up, as well as metal machining sector, sectors of thermal compensators, tungsten-based composite materials, high-precision chrome-copper contacts; the rolling and forging sector are upgraded.
1985
We take leading positions in:
metallurgy of coatings powders,
molybdenum and tungsten rolled products,
high-purity chromium,
pseudo-alloys,
contacts for high-voltage vacuum switches, and
highly efficient permeable materials.
The company develops new methods and is recognized as one of the leaders in the field of metallurgy of coatings powders, molybdenum and tungsten rolled sheets, high-purity chromium, pseudo-alloys, contacts for high-voltage vacuum switches, and highly efficient permeable materials.
1992
We obtain access to overseas and new home markets.
Launch of such productions as

chromium sputtering targets by sintering and deformation of high-purity powders;

molybdenum crucibles and thier auxiliaries for sapphire growth application with improved consumer properties;

and copper and nickel products.
2000
We launch new types of production.
Such productions as tungsten and molybdenum powder, high-precision molybdenum and tungsten rolled sheet metal, electrodes for glass-making furnaces, and chromium, molybdenum, tungsten, nichrome, and nickel sputtering targets for TFT were started.
2004
We set-up and launch our electrolysis line and 3N5-4N chromium production
Chromium sputtering target production by HIPping (hot isostatic pressing) was started.

Refractory metal machining sector was upgraded which allowed to initiate production of chromium large-sized targets for large-sized flat panel displays (FPD).

High-purity chromium target production volumes reached 30% of the global market.

AlTi composite production for mult-functional reinforcing coatings was started.
2010
We introduce additional capacities.
Additional production capacities of large-sized tungsten crucibles for saphhire growth in Russia, the United States, and Southeast Asian countries were introduced, which allowed to increase their output some 3 times and more.

Production of large-sized thin-sheet molybdenum rolled products and thermal units for growth plants was expanded.

Atomized satellite-free spherical powder production method and equipment were developed.

Powders with improved properties for welding and surfacing of wear-resistant coatings were mstered.
2014
We start production of metal powders for 3D printing, as well as Co-Cr-Mo medical rods.
New high-tech projects were launched in cooperation with the Industrial Development Fund, involving an investment volume of over 450 million rubles.

As part of the "Production of High-Alloy Metal Powders for Welding, Coating, and Additive Manufacuring" project a new metal powder production facility with a unique equipment base in Russia was set up.
2018
We develop new types of products and extend our export sales net.
POLEMA is one of the few companies in the world that produces spherical tungsten and molybdenum powders for 3D printing.
2021
We launch a new roller guide production site.
Our company's quality management system and all its activities were successfully certified to meet the requirements of the international standard ISO 9001:2015.
